How I Let My House

I wanted to let my house but did not know how to go about it. Thinking that a house for sale by owner would be far better, I tried to sell the property myself. This did not work out well at all. I wanted to save the agency commissions so I had done it this way. Needless to say I did not find any buyers for my house but instead wasted a lot of time with people who just wanted to see the inside or wanted to know how much I was selling my property for so that they could in turn sell their own.

I realized that putting up a house for sale by owner wasn’t easy so I decided to let my house on my own. I put ads in some local papers as well as some at a local place online that was free. I thought for certain that I would get qualified people to come in and let the place. After all, it was very clean and in good repair. However, the people who answered the ad were either not interested in the type of home that I had or not qualified to lease it from me. Many of them did not even have jobs, which led me to suspect that I would be late in receiving payments from them, if at all.

She said that they helped her lease her property and even found a buyer for the place. I decided that it would do me no harm to go online and take a look at what they had to offer.

Because they were online, I expected them to be a bit informal. Not like a regular estate agent. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they were not only experienced but that they were simply using any technology at their disposal to bring buyers and sellers together, as well as those who wanted to lease and those who were looking to let. Within a week, they found me a couple who were more than qualified to let my property and loved my home.

The story gets better. The couple that eventually let my home liked it so much that when they inherited some money, they offered to buy the property by using the estate agent. The estate agent relayed this information to me and I was thrilled. By this time, I was living in London and the agent was taking care of all of the details with the property for me. I accepted the offer that they came up with and was very pleased to sell the house.

Whenever you are letting property, you have to be sure that those who let will keep the property in good order. When you get people in there who will care for your home as well as pay the rent on time, you can ask for nothing more. In my case, I got an extra bonus when their good luck turned into my good luck as they actually purchased my house.
