People from northern regions prefer cuisines made of Cheese and Butter. Almost every cuisine from North India consist a fair amount of butter or ghee. Nobody can forget mouthwatering Paneer dishes (Muttar Paneer, Shahi Paneer , Paneer Butter Masala, Palak Paneer etc.) and Paranthas (made of Potato, Cauliflowers, Cheese, Radish, or Onion as filling and Wheat Floor as base) of North India.
When we talk about south, the food habits of people are entirely different. They prefer Dosa, Idli, Utpam and rice. They also prefer rice and fish. Coconut oil replaces the butter or ghee. In east, people prefer rice based food and sweets. In Bangal, people love to have sweets and curd (yogurt) along with their food, whereas the west has a totally different food culture focusing on vegetarian food.
