Advertising Upcoming Events

As a promoter of local festivals or local concerts one of the most important parts of your job is to determine who the target audiences for your upcoming events are and how to reach and entice them. It might sound easy, but the fact of the matter is that there are a number of different ways that people can go about doing this. There are the obvious venues with music- where can a person find and listen to the music? Go to these places and put the word out there. When you begin to spiral further out, you might see if there is a particular age group or segment of society that would be beneficial to target. Where do they hang out? What other interests might they have in common? What publications do they read? When you can answer these kinds of questions, then you begin to have a handle on what you're looking for. Just as many bands have street teams, it also makes sense for promoters to have a team that can go out and paper the town.
Where else might a promoter turn to get the hordes from their respective homes to the venues of their events? How about online sites dedicated to updating the local community on events that ...
... are upcoming? By using such a site, you can do more than just get the word out there, you allow people the ability to more or less bookmark the events they want to attend, to transfer them to their personal calender. And, when you tie this into social media, you get even further into the community. When one person announces that they are attending a particular event on a social networking site, all the people they interact with also hear about the event. To a certain degree, this is the next stage in the evolution of word-of-mouth. You don't have to be a genius to know that if you can get other people to do the advertising for you just in the course of their normal socializing that you're doing well in your field. At the end of the day, do whatever you can to make sure that your events are listed in the right places to get them seen by the right people. While general visibility is good, interactive visibility that lets people feel involved is even better, especially when it allows them to pass the world on through their social interactions.
Promoters of local events and local concerts are always looking for ways to reach the part of the population most likely to attend their events. One trick for bringing the crowd to upcoming events is to use a service like FlyJBA.
