All About Jaguars And Their Car Dealers In The Uk
Originally, the company was called Swallow Sidecar Company, and as the name suggests they manufactured Sidecars for motorcycles in the military – which back then were the pre-cursor to motorcars that we know today. During World War II in 1945 it was soon thought that the company’s initials ‘S.S Company’ had a negative view with the German secret police the S.S (Schutzstaffel) during the Nazi times and was quickly changed to the more positive and catchy Jaguar Cars Limited.
In the late 1960s, Jaguar merged with the British Motor Corporation and Leyand, which had previously acquired Austin-Morris, Rover and Triumph cars to become British Leyland, and was made a nationwide company. Later on, Jaguar was resold and became a private company on the stock exchange during the Thatcherite period of government in the1980s. One decade later, the American Ford Motor Company bought shares in Jaguar, becoming part of Fords Premier Automotive Group, which also owned Aston Martin, Land Rover and Volvo cars.
Jaguar are known for their sleek, lean and almost mean looking cars. Types include E-type, S-Type and X-Type Jags, ...
... as well as the classic XJS, XJ6 and later XJR models. They are also famous for their sports cars such as the XK range, with its coupe & cabriolet variations, which are still one of the most classically stunning cars at the moment. Jaguar is the same with quality, power and class, but also has an affordable price. If you want to buy Jaguar cars you can compare offers online. There are many Leading dealers like Motorparks which offers exciting offers on jaguar cars.
Stunning and iconic, Jaguar cars have been seen in a lot of movies and TV series throughout the years. Films such as Austin Powers with it’s British flag patterned E-Type “Shaguar” car. TV Series such as The Saint with the XJS and Inspector Morse’s MK2, associate these classic cars with heroic characters who have a taste for classy things and a British connotation.
Today, Jaguar is owned by Indian car company Tata, but the cars are still manufactured in the UK. Research and development is still at a high. The latest GT motor racing model is the Jaguar XKR GT2 RSR, which first came out in the 2010 American Le Mans Series, developed under the RSR team banner.
Jaguar Dealers based are all over the world and in UK. A simple search engine query for Jaguar Dealers UK, can show exactly where you can buy them. There are many local dealerships in towns and cities all over the UK. It is always advisable to buy new and used cars through authorised Jaguar Dealers, as this gives peace of mind to the quality control of new and used cars in their car pool.
