Copper undoubtedly is one of the most important metals on the earth. One cannot imagine the present day life without copper. Copper products such as tin copper wire, Copper Wire, copper flat wire and copper foil are essential in the electrical domain. Because of its very high conductivity copper is regarded as the finest material which can be used in the electric domain. Its wide availability, ability to be recycled, high conductivity, high malleability and ductility are the few reasons why copper is always chosen as the best material to be used in preparing wires and electrical appliances.

However copper before appearing in the ready to use form such as tin copper wire, copper flat wire, Copper Foil needs to go through a lot of processing. Here we shall mention all the manufacturing steps of copper. Copper is found in the earth’s crust and is extracted through mining as well as crushing. In the beginning, sulfide as well as oxide ores of copper are mined ...
... through digging as well as blasting. Thereafter it is crushed into walnut-sized pieces.

After being crushed in small sizes they are rod-milled into large, cylindrical, rotating machines where they are grounded to powder. They usually have less than 1 percent copper. Thereafter the Sulfide ores are removed to a concentrating stage where the oxide ores are the removed. The minerals are concentrated in slurry which contains about 15% of copper. The slag is and the water is recycled. The left over earth with copper oxide are sent to leaching tanks. After the copper is concentrated, it can form the pure copper cathode in two different ways: leaching & electrowinning or smelting as well as electrolytic refining.

There are few very important properties of copper which make it stand out and thus they become a useful material in the electrical domain. These properties can be listed as:

• Very high conductivity; this is the most important property which makes it suitable as an electrical equipment.

• They are malleable and ductile, which means they can be drawn into wire such as tin copper wire, copper flat wire and beaten into sheets to form copper foil.

• Copper is also known to be resistant to corrosion as a result it is much favorable to be used in various electrical appliances.

• It has very good alloying characteristics and is non-magnetic in nature.

• Copper comes with excellent heat transfer characteristics besides being durable and recyclable.
