Read up on some great tips for the next time you plan a winery touring and tasting adventure.

1. Before you start making plans, call all the wineries you’re interested in to check for hours of operation.

2. Try to visit wineries during their off season, usually June thru November. Also avoid visiting during peak hours.

3. Make time for smaller, off the beaten path or less known wineries. They just may surprise you.

4. If there are somewhat large crowds, be polite and step to the side. This helps maintain an easy flow of wine tasting for everyone.

5. Don’t be afraid to experiment with new wines or ask a lot of questions.

6. Don’t be afraid to dispose of your glass of wine if you do not care for it. Save your taste buds for other wines you would like most.

7. If you can’t handle your alcohol well or want to avoid being tipsy, you might want to consider spitting the wine out into the waste bin.

8. If you plan on having a group that is larger than eight, call the tasting rooms ahead of time.

9. To help you remember the wines you liked and enjoyed the most, ...
... take a notepad to keep track of the wines you tasted.

10. Cellars are often times quite chilly, so be sure to dress appropriately.

11. Help prevent hangovers by making it a point to drink plenty of bottled water when you can.

12. Avoid wearing strong perfumes or colognes since they can inhibit both yours and other people’s enjoyment of the wine tasting aromas.

13. Protect newly purchased wines by bringing an ice cooler with you during your trip.

14. Take time to enjoy the scenery by hitting up one of the local restaurants or by enjoying a walk and picnic.

15. Find out if you and your friends can take a walk throughout the vineyards.

Plan your next Southern California winery tour by visiting beautiful Temecula wine country. Take the time to experience a Temecula wine tasting at a wonderful Temecula Winery like Ponte Winery. At Ponte Winery you’ll find a beautiful tasting room unlike any other for both you and your friends to enjoy a relaxing day filled with mouthwatering wine.
