Madden 12 is due later this year with the release date set for August. The excitement levels are already rising steadily though the game is still some months away. In the past, football games were forced to go on without Soldier Field being named as the home of the Chicago Bears. A vexing licensing issue was the reason behind the whole problem. This issue has now been resolved. Madden was forced to refer Soldier Field as Chicago Stadium because of the same licensing problems.

Meanwhile, the debate continues among Madden gaming enthusiasts on whether you should kick first or receive first. Some say it hardly matters in an entertainment game but the more serious gamers believe that it is better to choose to kick first if you win the toss. Based on some mathematical calculations and by researching many previous games, they have arrived at the conclusion that the team kicking first got four possessions while the receiving team got one less at three. In a shorter game, that is a significant difference.

With the Madden 12 set for an August release, football enthusiasts are waiting with bated breath for every bit of news and announcements about the game.
