This is the region of Stonehenge, cheddar cheese, cream teas, cider, and miles and miles of great outdoors. South West England has 40% of blue flag beaches in the country, national parks, areas of outstanding natural beauty and an inspirational countryside. The area is located between the English Channel and the Bristol Channel and owns the longest coastline in UK. The oceanic climate gives the West Country, warm summers and cool winters. Surfing, sailing, cycling, walking, hot air ballooning, coasteering, landboarding and canoeing are some of the wonderful activities available for anyone who goes on holiday to this region. Here are some of the most popular tourist destinations of West Country.

Cornwall

This is home to some of the best beaches, mighty cliffs, moorlands, woodlands, delicious local food, fishing villages, and heritage. 80% of Cornwall is surrounded by the sea, which gives it the longest coastline. There are more than 300 beaches for you to choose from. The sea is ideal for sailing, surfing, and scuba diving. It is perfect for a quiet lie down on the warm sands and to simply ...
... relax your mind and body. You can get the perfect surfing experience with many reef varieties and beach breaks along the Cornish coasts and experience the South West Coast Path, which is over 300 miles. The world famous Eden project is also nestled in Cornwall. This tropical garden gives you an insight into the relationship between man and nature. It has the world’s largest greenhouse, the Humid Tropics Biome. It is an ideal place to visit with your kids, so they can explore the origins of everyday plants, attend workshops and engage in many other activities.

Devon

Sometimes known as Devonshire, it is England’s third largest county with rolling hills, river valleys, thatched roof cottages, moors, the Jurassic coast, and the only natural World Heritage Site in UK. It has some of the amazing surf spots and cliff-top walks. The Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks are some of the places for you to take your family, when you visit Devon. You will find plenty of old villages, fishing harbours and interesting towns in this place. Travel in a steam train, try white water rafting, explore castles and galleries, and immerse yourself in the never ending sceneries. The powerful Atlantic swells, guarantee fantastic surfing all year long. Abundance of ship wrecks and reefs are marvellous attractions to divers.

An interesting way to spend a holiday in the West Country is to stay at a holiday park. Get yourself a caravan or a holiday lodge, so you do not have to worry about sticking to a regulated schedule. Be adventurous, explore and get the utmost experience of this beautiful South West, to your hearts content.
