You basically have two options when it comes to buying a caravan. You can either choose a standard towing caravan that you must tow with your own car, or you can buy a camper van. Mobile homes are more suitable for all road terrains, so if you think that you will be travelling off road, then a more expensive but more solid motorhome may be the right option.

You will need to think about what you plan to use your caravan for. If you plan on making getaways where you will be mainly at dedicated caravan parks, then you can consider caravans that are less feature packed. If the places that you are staying can boast decent facilities you may not need a caravan that has its own shower and built in televisions for example.

Think about who you are likely to be travelling with. If you are going to be holidaying with larger groups regularly then a bigger caravan may be in order. Bear in mind that if you intend to go to more remote locations smaller caravans can be easier to manoeuvre on smaller roads too.
