You can also set a property on shortcuts to programs and MMC tools so that you are always prompted for alternate credentials when you use the shortcut. To set the property, right-click the shortcut, click Properties, click Advanced in the Shortcut tab, and then select the Run With Different Credentials check box in the Advanced Properties dialog box. If you need to perform an administrator-only task, such as upgrading the operating system or configuring system parameters, you should log on security+ certification as an administrator, perform the task, and then log off.
