It’s basically pretty simple: a diamond ring consists of two things, the ring and the diamond. That ring can be of different colors, for example white gold or plain gold. But the diamond, oh that diamond can be customized until eternity. Whatever you like to change, it’s possible until your have your own perfect diamond. That way you’re also sure the ring around your finger is unique. The price is also yours to decide. With the four C’s in mind, it’s all up to you. How?

The 4 C’s
During the hunt for the ideal diamond ring, a lot (pretty much everything, but hardly anyone is aware of it) depends on the Four C’s. The cut (how the stone is cut), the clarity (is it see through), the color and the carat weight make a diamond look the way it does. Every C is important for the final outcome and offers a bunch of options. So it’s possible to customize your diamond the way you like it. Without overpaying! Because you’re the one that determines the final price, when you master your C’s.

Cut of the stone
A beautiful shiny diamond, you’ve seen them in movies, TV shows, magazines and video ...
... clips. When the diamond is cut properly, the stone shines. That’s why C for Cut is the most important C, because the more a diamond shines, the more beautiful it is. It all comes down to how light enters the stone from above. That depends on how the diamond was cut. Light reflects from below and comes back. That’s the sparkle that makes a diamond pretty. For diamonds the cut is essential, it all starts with the cut.

Color of the stone
The color of the diamond is very important when it comes to the final price you’re going to pay. Less color means higher quality. So, actually the C for Color is based on the lack of color. Diamonds originally have a vague yellow color. When the rock has little to no color, it’s valued higher (and is therefore more expensive).

Clarity of the stone
The clarity of a diamond is based on little imperfections inside or on the outside of the stone. Little cracks for example. Without those imperfections the diamond is bound to get very expensive. The value goes up when imperfections are harder to see. No imperfections equals extremely unique (and thus expensive).

Carat weight of the stone
How many carat? The carat weight of diamond (and also diamond rings) goes in carats. Meaning: like a dollar has 100 cents, a carat had a hundred points. Simply put: fifty points is half a carat and a hundred points is a full carat. If you pick a carat weight just below a full or half carat, the diamond looks the same but costs less! Just a suggestion.

As expensive as you want
Although it doesn’t look this way, you can very much have an influence on the price of your diamond. With the four C’s you know what to look out for. And with those Four C’s you will find your ultimate diamond. Normally priced!

No matter what kind of diamanten ringen you’re looking for, as long as you know your Four C’s you’ll have a say in how they’ll turn out. It’s all up to you when it comes to diamanten, so are you ready?
