One of the most important advantages presented by Mexico real estate for American and Canadian buyers has been the ease of air access; while numerous of the most attractive real estate locations benefit from a large number of airline choices, two locations in particular have recently benefited from new airline routes from the U.S.

The new routes will be offered by American Airlines, and are to be opened to connect the city of Dallas, Texas to Mazatlan on Mexico's Pacific coast and the colonial city of Morelia in the central interior. This announcement comes as part of National Tourism Agreement signed on February 28 which officially makes tourism growth the central focus of the federal government and cooperation between the various state governments. Morelia is a colonial gem still waiting to be discovered by international tourists. It has already become a favorite among Mexico visitors – some say it has the highest amount of domestic tourist traffic – and this fact has given he city the funds to keep up its beautiful historic downtown area. In the surrounding area, there are also a number of quaint lakefront towns which combine the charm of old Mexico with a very relaxing lifestyle; the temperature is also cooler than the beachfront areas, but still far from actually being cold.

A handful of Americans and Canadians have begun discovering the value this location presents, with very low prices both in Mexico homes for sale and for the cost of living, as well as many of the charming features which have drawn expats to many other parts of the country.

An increase in flight options from the U.S. will help bring more international attention to this high potential tourism and real estate location.

Mexico's Minister of Tourism, Gloria Guevara, said the federal government will continue working with airlines to bring new flight connections to destinations in Mexico ensuring that a growing number of areas are very well connected.
