There is a new diet in town, called the raw foods diet and it would be surprising to find anyone who hasn’t heard of it. People are burning up the internet in search of new and innovative raw food recipes. This diet has been endorsed by some very big named stars and by many doctors. It is known to be good for your body, good for your mind, and good for the environment. You can enjoy nuts, seeds, fresh and dehydrated fruits and vegetables and any spices or seasonings you like. The main advocates of the raw foods diet recommend that your diet consist of approximately 75% raw foods. If you like to experiment with food, this is a great adventure for you!

Many people begin by soaking nuts or seeds for any where from four to 36 hours. The time depends on which seeds or nuts you choose to try. You can find raw food recipes online that will tell you how long each of the different varieties need to be soaked. When they are soaked appropriately, rinse them and add them to a bowl and toss them with your choice of spices or seasonings to create creations such as garlic peanuts, Cajun spiced almonds or cinnamon pecans. Keep in mind ...
... that the flavors will intensify as the flavors tend to intensify as they are dried. Spread the nuts on a dehydrator tray and heat at 110 to 115 degrees F for 8 to twenty hours or until they are completely dried. Store the treats in an airtight container or baggie. They last a very long time and they are the perfect munchie food, or they can be used in almost anything you eat. This is a perfect example of a raw food recipe and they are so delicious!

You can make a simple salad from raw foods or you can get really creative by adding nuts or seeds to create new flavors. It’s truly amazing how much variety and creativity is found in raw food recipes. You may want to invest in a good dehydrator, food processor or a blender as you get better with creating raw food recipes. As you search the internet you will find many delicious creations made by novices like you as well as some from very popular names such as Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson. Raw foods have many benefits that cooked ones don’t. We all know that what we choose to put in to our bodies can make a gigantic difference in our health. People have begun to recognize just how many benefits raw foods can offer.

Raw foods contain enzymes that are essential to our digestive systems. These enzymes help to break down foods so we can digest them easier. Having natural help with our digestion leaves us more energy for us to use else where. When foods are brought to temperatures of anything over 120 degrees F, raw foods begin to break down and lose their nutritional value which makes them less healthy for us to eat. Proteins and fats will change from nutritious to down right damaging when they are heated.
