Setting yourself a weight loss goal can be difficult. You have to determine how much weight you want to lose. You should start with a main goal which is basically the total weight loss. Then separate that goal into smaller amounts for each month that you plan on accomplishing this goal. This will help you focus on smaller and much more attainable goals that you will see results quicker than your main goal.

Your main goal should definitely be something realistic and at the same time be specific enough so that you can get yourself excited enough about it to start working towards your goal right away. When setting yourself this goal you don’t want to only pick a weight loss goal but also try and put a reasonable time frame for you to lose your weight. Let’s say for example 45 lbs in 6 months.

Now that you have your main goal, you should separate that into smaller more attainable goals. So separate the total weight loss by the amount of months that you have set for yourself, so in this case your monthly goal is to lose 7.5 lbs. Your physical activity and eating habits are the two most important part of losing weight. If you’re not exercising, eating poorly, your weight loss goal is unattainable because you have not committed yourself to losing those extra pounds.

The only way you will be able to achieve these goals that you have set for yourself is by sticking to them. Even if you do happen fall off the path to success, don’t worry about it. Realise that you have and get yourself back on track immediately. Don’t let one simple mishap throw you off course completely and stop you from achieving your weight loss goal.
