In Mexico's 4th National Tourism Forum, hosted in Playa del Carmen, leaders of the area's tourism industry took the opportunity to further promote the area as the "Heart of the Riviera Maya," emphasizing the romantic attraction the area holds for weddings and honeymoons; the good news is that it's not just for the young; Playa del Carmen retirement is likewise romantic, and Playa del Carmen real estate offers retired couples an ideal way to enjoy romance in warm-weather relaxation!

Mexico's 4th National Tourism Forum was held on March 2, 3 and 4 at the Hotel Royal Porto Real in Playa del Carmen. Before the event, Playa del Carmen's mayor stressed that these forums are excellent opportunities to strengthen the destination further and advance in strengthening the area's most recent brand, "Heart of the Riviera Maya."

The slogan plays with the fact that Playa del Carmen is the geographical center of the area, and the central point for romantic image.

While, as mentioned above, the focus of the slogan is to promote weddings and honeymoons in the area (so far successfully) it's also good news for retirees. The first point is that retired couples can certainly enjoy the romantic atmosphere of the area – perhaps even more so, since they have the time and relaxation to enjoy long walks on the sandy beaches, sipping wine at a nice sidewalk cafe, romantic diners and much more.

The other good news about the promotion itself is that many retirees use their property in Playa del Carmen only part of the year. With more couples heading down for vacations, and weddings bringing all their guests, there will also be more people looking for Playa del Carmen vacation rentals by owners as an affordable and comfortable alternative to hotels.

This advantage is likewise true for retirees who buy condos in a gated community with resort-style services; many of these offer rental pools, and are well-positioned to gain from a strengthened image of the area as a romantic destination.

While many feel romance is for the young, it's quite possibly true that retiree have even more to gain from Playa del Carmen's romance!
