One of the very interesting games which have been known by almost every game player is magic the gathering. This is a game which makes you not only to enjoy the game but also equips you with all the basics you need to know about the cards games. You can chose to play magic the gathering either online or offline.

Online is where you don’t physically see the other player(s), and will play the game on the internet without any physical contact. Offline mode is where you come together and play the game, where you are able to see the opponents.

Both modes of playing cards are considered to be good and make the game more interesting. But I tend to see online playing of magic the gathering having some concerns. As with any other game, if you are playing magic the gathering especially as a business, meaning that you are playing for money (it’s a common way to find money), online means needs to be looked at carefully. The advantage of playing the game online is that you don’t need to see your opponent, plus it gives you some conveniences. This is because when in offline you have to move to find someone ...
... to play with. With magic the gathering online, you can play wherever you are, whenever you want and at your own comfort. You are sue you will never lack someone to play the game with online. But have you ever thought of the other side of playing this interesting game online? When you are dealing with cards, most of the hosts of the game will provide some rules about how to get the game, play within the rules and then the winner takes the money home. So, what are my concerns?

Lack of planning makes you lose more money: at least when you are playing magic the gathering in offline, when your opponent wins some three-four times, you are sure then you either met with a strong person, or your skills are much lower compared to the opponent. Chances will be that you will quit, even if you have lost some considerable amount of cash. But when you are in the online mode, one thing I have noticed is that it becomes very hard to convince yourself that you have less playing skills. You find yourself pumping money with this phrase ‘this is the last one, I loose, I quit’, and so what happens, when you tell yourself that, you end up winning the game. Winning is not the problem, the problem comes that you Are now sure that you can win a game, and may be that one was out of luck. For the next six-seven times, you haven’t won anything and by the time you come to the conclusion that your opponent is too hard for you, your pocket is simply empty.

Another concern which I’ve noted with magic the gathering online is lack of analysis on the game: you realize that when you are taking a card and your opponent then moves on to play, in an offline mode, you can easily analyze the opponent and understand the weak points of his or her game. Online magic the gathering hasn’t something like that. You don’t have any contact; you can’t see your opponent as much as he can’t see you and this makes the game more difficult especially if you feel you don’t have enough skills to win the game. However, all these will depend on the how much you know the game, and how much you can plan yourself when playing it.
