Textile industry ranks amongst the oldest and largest industries of the world. With competition amid manufacturers to woo customers with different colors and designs heating up, textile dyes are today one of the highest selling items in the industry. The new stringent standard for the use of eco friendly textile dyes set by US and European Union has taken the dye manufacturing business to a new level. With these strict environmental quality standards in place only those manufacturers can succeed who can constantly upgrade their quality and adhere to these regulations. Here are some of the different types of dyes used in the industry.

Synthetic dyes are the most commonly used dyes in the industry and are made by the combination of different types of chemicals.
Cationic dyes can easily dissolve in water and are used along with mordant to dye synthetic fiber, mostly. But these textile dyes lose their fastness when exposed to sun light, washing or perspiration.
Direct dyes are used to dye wool, silk, nylon, cotton, rayon etc. ...
... without the use of a mordant. These dyes have good light fastness but have poor water fastness.
Vat dyes don't dissolve in water. To use these dyes they undergo reduction process in alkaline solution which fastens them to the fibers. Later, when dye is exposed to air it returns to its insoluble form. They are used for cotton, linen and rayon and along with mordants, they can dye other fabrics such as wool, nylon, polyesters, acrylics and modacrylics.
Reactive Dyes can be applied from alkaline solution or from neutral solutions then alkalized in a separate process. Heat treatment is also used on occasions to develop different shades. They are used to dye wool, silk, nylon, acrylics and their blends.

Today more than 80 years later, they have five plants in the US; warehouses across US, Europe and Asia; Technical Center and office in China and manufacturing partnerships around the globe.
