Why Do Women Love Flowers
What is it that has made them come out and buy some fresh flowers? After all - what is it that they do? They are bought and sit inside a house looking pretty for a few days, but eventually they do die. It is certainly not a play station game, or a DVD film you can keep coming back to time after time. And yet still these customers keep coming back, somehow a little more knowledgeable after the first time they had bought a hand tied bouquet. Perhaps the answer lies in the eyes of the woman who receives a flower delivery that didn't put a huge smile on their recipient's face, or at the very least make them tingle a little bit. The reason for this is that the flowers are full of emotions, or should I say full of hidden meanings and symbols that no other gifts can match, however expensive. Throughout history the Greeks, Egyptians and even in Victorian times, people gave meanings to flowers, some of which we still use today. Most of these meanings evoked feelings of love and romance, but people loved them so much and pretty soon conveyed messages of friendship, get well soon, thinking of you, or even downright feelings of rejection ...
... (ouch!). It is also the fact women know that men are not in their comfort zones when they are in a florist. It is a strange and an alien world to most of them.
But, it is a comforting fact to a woman to know that this man has taken time to go out of his ‘zone' and has taken time to endure a little discomfort in order to make his loved one happy. Sometimes it is this cluelessness that makes women go even more madly in love with their men. After all, would he really go through all that trouble with something that he clearly doesn't understand, or maybe even like? He must love me!!! Still don't get it?The other wonderful thing with flowers is their multi-sensory experiences. The colours of flowers are a feast for the eyes, the petals are soft to the touch and the smell is simply divine. Roses, sunflowers, Tulips , lilies, hydrangeas, calla lilies (or arum lilies), gerberas, freesias - the list is almost endless, and yet so many colours. Oh lá lá. So, even if you don't feel comfortable with doing it, get rid of your pride and just do it.

TIPS ON CARING FOR FLOWERS:
It may seem obvious but changing water is of paramount importance to keeping your flowers fresh too. If possible change the water in your vase once a day, otherwise every two to three days will still be ok, not perfect, but nevertheless ok. When changing water remember to clean out any debris left on the stems. Leaves as well as broken pieces of stems can cause bacteria to build in the container, which will not only look dirty, but will shorten the lifespan of all the flowers in the vase. A very good idea would be to also wash the inside of the vase before placing the flowers back in.
