The problem is attracting people who will be good matches and then being able to actually carry on relationships with these people. Compatibility is so very important.

Even if you do not have any specific problems that you are dealing with, it is always a good idea to try to work out any personal issues that you may have that might come in the way of a relationship. Most of the time when people are on their own, they do not recognize character traits, personality flaws or past issues that may come in the way of relationships, but preparing ahead of time is always better than being caught unprepared and having the relationship fall apart. You do not necessarily need to go to counseling, but do take some time to journal or reflect on lessons from the past that you can learn from.

The most important thing you can do to increase your chances of attracting your soul mate is to get comfortable with yourself. Many people focus on trying to start new hobbies or do things to attract others. They think that if they want a certain type of person they have to be just like them. The truth is that others are more attracted to our confidence than our hobbies.

You can express an interest in learning about the other person's hobbies, but you do not have to represent yourself as someone who has always enjoyed that activity if you truly have not. Instead, what you should do is become comfortable with yourself and project confidence.

In most cases, hobbies and common interests do not determine whether or not a relationship works. Instead, it is the emotional health of each person involved, and when people project confidence, they show that they have what it takes to make a relationship work.
