No Degree? Here Are The Jobs For You

Are there actually jobs that require no degrees on this planet? That is a scenario that would be every struggling job aspirant's dream come true.
Unfortunately that is not the case with the majority of the jobs out there in the market. The cutthroat competition in the job market has probably made the prospective employers even more finicky or picky about the credentials of the job seekers. If you get called for an interview, you have to be armed with a plethora of certificates which will be scrutinised with a fine toothcomb while you wait awkwardly for the verdict. If you had been an exemplary student all along then you can gloat in your aura of self - assurance.
The latter scenario had always evaded me since studies and school had never been my favourite thing and consequently I had always managed to scrape through to the next class only by a whisker. Now when you have such deplorable marks, the last thing you would want is for someone to study your mark sheets with such depth. So, in such cases, you squirm and fidget and wonder what is going through your potential employer's mind. Does he or she look down on ...
... you? Does he think you are a moron?
Anyway, I sailed through some uninspired jobs over the years. Sales with a travel agency, guest relations with a hotel, selling golf club memberships for a golf resort and needless to say I was never happy with any of these jobs. I have never been the sort of person who likes to take orders or maybe get yelled at or be reprimanded. Gradually, the idea of freelancing began to look like an attractive option. But, freelance and do what?
Then, I came across some acquaintances that were doing freelance proofreading or editing. Well, that was something I could do since I liked reading and had a better vocabulary than the average person. As I networked through friends and surfed the net for hours, I came across a revelation. There are innumerable sites on the net that offer freelance jobs which don't necessarily stress on degrees. You post your resume on the site whilst stating your areas of interest and wait or just apply for a particular job posted on the site. If your prospective employer is interested, he will send you a little test. If you pass the test, then you can get started. It's as simple as that.
If your resume is peppered with degrees, then, well and good. If not, then no employer in cyberspace seems to stress on them. Just pass the preliminary test to prove that you are competent and then stick to deadlines. Yes, deadlines are taken very seriously in cyberspace. This is all the more so with writing or editing jobs. This is the way it really should be everywhere. I agree that one needs degrees for specialized jobs like medicine, engineering, rocket science etc but jobs like sales, customer service or writing, I can't understand the necessity for degrees. This is where cyberspace comes to our rescue.
