Is eCosway a MLNM (or MLM) company?
Throughout the past few months, I have been approached by several eCosway Business Owners, informing me about the wonderful new business opportunity in the United Kingdom. Before engaging further with them, I've decided to carry out more research from my side.

What is MLM (Multi-level marketing) or MLNM (Multi-level network marketing). In short it is a marketing strategy in which the sales personnel is compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of other they recruit which in many case is known as the down-line, which in turn the down-line would recruit more members creating multiple levels of compensation.

The structure and strategy of any typical MLM business have frequently been criticised as being an illegal pyramid schemes, high initial start-up costs, price-fixing of products and recruitment of sales people rather than product promotion.

Ultimately we need to understand and not to be too bias towards all MLM companies. This is because not all MLM businesses operate the same nasty way, as many of these companies does ...
... have great compensation schemes and legitimate business practices. Good MLM companies should have the below characteristic: -

The company's whereabouts?
Try and see the product, research on the product and the compound inside the product
Range of product; as illegal pyramid scheme MLM companies tend to have small range of product under a tightly niche area
Compensation plan
Presentation with group support

Is eCosway UK MLM and a scam?

Based on research, personally I do not think this is true, because it's FREE franchise shop business model has been introduced to many of the overseas markets already. These markets include Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, the United State and now in the UK. The concept is absolutely marvellous, this is because individual do not have to fork out large sum of capital to purchase a franchise licence. As eCosway will award FREE stores for Business Owners to run the business.
Unlike any other pyramid MLM business, a physical store will attract foot-fall to the shop. As many of the products are daily necessary products, the revenue streams can be generated by both selling the product and recruiting new members (Business Owners or VIP members).

It really is up to you to decide whether eCosway is MLM or SCAM. As MLM company tend not to have physical shops, and rely heavily on members stocking on the products via harsh initial investment. Whether it is a scam, well, all the eCosway shops globally still exist and running, and the eCosway company is listed in the stock exchange in Malaysia and Hong Kong, and the fact that it has recently purchase the Cardiff Football club, it is incredibly difficult for me to associate this company with other MLM scam.
