Any footwear that causes discomfort is a pain. Imagine if you are in a dangerous combat zone, walking and running over rough terrain in the heat and you have uncomfortable boots. It sounds horrendous and it is for the military. A military boot has to meet certain requirements and the main one has to be comfort. That was indeed a sorry state of affairs and it shows how important the military boot is. Without the proper fit and comfort the soldier cannot perform at 100%.

There is no doubt if you focus on any discomfort you have you cannot fully devote yourself to duty. Therefore the correctly fitting and well-made military boot is a very important piece of kit and comfort should never be underestimated. We expect a lot of our military personnel so the least they should have is some comfort for their feet. So what makes a great military boot? They need to be constructed with the best materials and most are made from leather because it's durable. They need to have arch support and be padded enough to avoid rubbing, also they need to be well lined with the appropriate lining.

The military boot is in use all over the world so there are some that need foot cooling properties and will have extra ventilation. Likewise for cold environments and snowy and icy terrain the boot will need to be insulated and have superb traction. The military will never know the kind of terrain they will encounter so good grip and rugged construction are a must in a military boot. One thing every pair of military boots must have is comfort from day one of wear. They should not need to be 'broken in'. Boots need to serve our military personnel and keep their feet protected and comfortable a great military boot will do just that.
