I came to a little city of central America when i was very young. From then on, l lived in a place where people around me were all foreign people. Because i was a little child, i blended with local people much easier than adults. So even when i back to home after school, i chronically talked with my families in English. My father always paid no attention to my talk and asked me to speak Chinese.

I grew up gradually, i participate in academic team, national honor society, debate team, key club and many other clubs. Besides, i attended senior high school in daytime and took post secondary program as an elective course at night. Even though i was busy with study everyday, i was supervised to learn Chinese by my father. I was innocent and refused to learn Chinese at that time. My father always told me that no matter how perfect my English was, no matter how perfect i blended in American society and even if all my friends were American people, others will notice that i was a Chinese people with black eyes and yellow skin. That's why i must learn Chinese well.

People will notice you are a Chinese people and they will respect you if you can act like a Chinese people and speak fluent Chinese.
