Tft Modules Are Everywhere
Today LCD TFT displays have become a normal part of life. They're found in everything from industrial applications to everyday consumer products. Just about all LCD technology today consists of TFT display technology. This technology is the most advanced version of the LCD display.
TFT display construction differs from the silicon transistor wafer technology of the early LCD displays. TFT displays use transistors formed from a thin film of amorphous silicon substance deposited directly on a glass substrate panel. Thin Film Transistor is where the TFT designation comes from. Each transistor forms a color pixel and is directly controlled by a small current. The smaller control current generates less crosstalk between the individual transistor circuits. The transistors are also able to change states much faster. The significance of all this is that the displays have greater brightness, clarity and response time. These attributes are a must for viewing movies and playing modern games on these devices.
TFT modules and miniaturization have taken the use of TFT displays to a new level. Miniature devices are now manufactured ...
... to fit where needed. TFT modules have opened up limitless possibilities for creating compact devices that are interactive and can accept and display information in any format required.
TFT modules for consumer use normally contain the screen, a housing appropriate to the device and an interface for VGA, HDMI, DVI or any other type of video output necessary. The module will also have a controller board to convert the input signal from the interface board to a normal 4:3, 16:9 wide screen, portrait or landscape output as required. These devices are also capable of supporting backlighting and touch screen technology.
Practically all LCD screens produced today use TFT technology. Screen sizes range from less than 2.5 inches to the large HD television screens. Many everyday consumer items are centered around TFT module technology. Cell phones and wireless phones today look nothing like the phones of ten to fifteen years ago. Smart phones carry the technology even further. These phones have displays that are bright and clear. They use interactive touch screen technology and can rival many computer screens with the graphics and data they can display.
Other devices include hand held video gaming consoles, book readers, video camera displays, entertainment system remote control displays, ATM machines, computer and printer displays as well as GPS and a myriad of displays in the modern automobile. Even the sportsman has not been ignored there's a Bass Finder with a brightly lit display and numerous controls to get the edge on the game and the competition. In the home there are the Smart appliances with interactive displays, Smart thermostats, and Smart Home control systems which have been simplified to the point of just touching the screen for the desired settings.
Industrial and medical uses include everything from Point of Sale machines to patient monitoring devices and many more too numerous to mention.
TFT technology has made all this possible bringing bright visions of the future into today's world.
