Considering The Right Procedure Of How To Tig Weld?

TIG welding is a short form of Tungsten Inert Gas Arc Welding and also stands for GTAW, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. TIG Welding involves the process of welding metal pieces together using an electric arc that generates the heat. You then have a tungsten non-consumable electrode that develops the weld, which you are attempting to create.
One of the key component that take place in this type of welding is that the particular metal, which is to be welded should be protected from any kind of contamination or dust or else you will get a poor weld. And, this is the reason why the area is shielded using an inert gas like argon, which is used with a filler metal when required.
Basically, this welding type requires continuous flow throughout the arc using an ionized gas known as plasma. Plasma contain metal vapors within it. Usually, TIG welding is used for welding thin metals like stainless steel, aluminum, magnesium or copper. It provides full control of the weld to the welder who is operating the welding process.
This means that it produces stronger weld that have higher quality than many other types of welding. ...
... In fact, according to most of the experts, TIG Weld is harder, complex and slower process to learn than other welding techniques.
Some of the welders prefer using different kinds of torches in order to produce plasma arc welding, which is quite similar to this type but distinguish in many ways. In fact, this welding type gives a more focused and a clear welding arc, but this is usually done through the automation process.
How it functions?
The reason why this process is considered one of the most difficult to master, because in this the welder has to make use of a smaller arc length. In fact, they need to have a very steady hand over the welding process. And, if you are incapable to maintain a distance between the electrode and the piece with which you are working, the piece can become contaminated and you will therefore get poor quality weld.
This is also considered as a two handed process because in this you would be operating with both of your hands. In one you should be able to hold the torch and feed a filler metal into the space that you are welding with the other. You will even find that this is a very complex process, which requires high skill. In addition, this welding process can be operated using several different currents: positive direct current, negative direct current or alternating current, but all this depends on how they set up the power supply when you start with it.
