127 Hours is a thrilling film based on real life mountain climber and motivational speaker, Aron Ralston. The film produced, directed and co-written by Danny Boyle is the based on the biography ‘Between a Rock and a Hard Place' by the mountain climber Ralston himself, who was trapped by a boulder for more than five days in 2003. Ralston had to amputate his own arm with a dull knife in an attempt to extricate himself from the boulder in an isolated canyon in the Canyonlands National park of Utah. The adventure has more to it as Ralston had to climb a 65 foot wall and hike for more than eight miles before he was finally rescued.

This entire thrilling real life drama has been brilliantly transformed into celluloid by Danny Boyle. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor. James Franco plays the role of Aron Ralston. The film recapitulates Ralston's adventure and his journey to freedom. Throughout his journey just as Ralston recollects his friends, his lovers, the two hikers whom he met before his accident, the film also has similar characters played by Clemence Poesy as one ...
