Astrology as an art form dates back to pre Greek civilization from where it spread throughout the world. Although not a science, it seeks to apply the study of stars and planets and their orbits and the influence they have on human behavior.

These patterns have been studied for almost as long as the earths history has been recorded. It is well documented for example that the Babylonians had a highly developed astrological system that influenced much of their culture and their activity. They introduced the art to the Greeks who embraced it and perfected it into the form we know it today.

Although astrology is considered controversial by both religion and science, it continues to flourish amongst its followers in the modern age. The practioners of Astrology are called Astrologers and they use unscientific methods to show these cosmological relationships with humanity. Many people will not do anything in the mornings until they have first read the predictions for the day. The prediction is called a persons horoscope. Some of these predictions may extend to the best colors for the person to wear, and situations to avoid to ensure a good day, or to warn of impending problems that may affect the person during their day.

Other people will form love relationships, or resist the relationship development based on the prediction that the relationship between two particular people will be unsuccessful or highly successful.

Babies are allocated an astrological symbol at birth, depending on the date and month of their birth. Each symbol has a broad set of character traits that are believed to be shared by all the people who were born under that symbol.

These symbols are called the zodiac The months that correspond to the zodiac are controversial and there are variations reported by different astrologers, however most people accept the 12 signs as they traditionally appear in books on the zodiac.

Astrology, whilst not considered an actual science, commands both respect and skepticism. It is a well organized international practice that continues to remain an important influence in the lives of millions of people around the world.
