Speeches Can Change The World, Or Your Corner Of It

Speeches are a way of reaching out to others. Whether you are speaking at a business conference or at your son's wedding what you say should express your thoughts and your beliefs. You may want to say that there are better ways of making sales and go on to explain, from your own experience, how that can be done. If you want to express your love for your son you should speak of what he means to the family and to you in particular.
In other words speeches can be a way of persuading others to your viewpoint. They can also of course, be informative or witty or both. Some speeches inspire people to great heights. You might, for instance, speak about the need for volunteers in an area devastated by an earthquake. If you speak eloquently and from the heart you might, hopefully, find people queuing up to help. If you are a politician you might speak about your view of how the country can be changed for the better. Such speeches should have passion and again express your own beliefs.
There are speeches for every occasion. There are award ceremonies, retirement functions and birthday parties. Each speech has a different ...
... format but each should say that the person you are addressing is wonderful and unique. Speeches in the military of course would be much more formal and would include words like duty and self sacrifice. Speakers should always be certain that their facts are right and that they address dignitaries in the correct manner.
Speeches can make or break an occasion. If the speaker makes a gaffe or tells a blue story that is what will be remembered. If, however, his speech resonates with the audience they will remember it. That is why it is so important for speakers to do their research, even if it is only finding out the names of the bridesmaids at the wedding. People love to be complimented and so if you speech can include such a compliment for someone special make sure to give it. Otherwise a good speaker will ensure that his audience feels that he has recognised their importance or their interests or that he is addressing their problems.
Speeches are part of everyday life for some people. In fact they earn their living by giving speeches. Retired statesmen, for example, often supplement their income by sharing their experience with others. Other speakers are experts in some field and they are asked to share their expertise with interested audiences. Speeches may consist of words strung together but good speakers realise it is expressing the feeling behind those words that matter.
