Use Natural Home Remedies To Cure Scurvy

Scurvy is a deficiency disease that it is often mistaken for paralysis, rheumatism, or rickets.

Lack of ascorbic acid or of Vitamin C is the main cause that leads to scurvy. An inadequate intake of fresh vegetables and fruits often leads to this disease. The first signs of scurvy are a general weakness and exhaustion. Anyway its onset is gradual. If scurvy is not properly treated from the first signs it can become acute leading to hemorrhage. Another cause of scurvy is stress.

This disease can be successfully treated using natural home remedies.

One of the most effective and beneficial remedy consists in Indian gooseberry because t is rich in Vitamin C. Take a dry Indian gooseberry and powder it with the same quantity of sugar. Take 1 teaspoon of this powder with milk every day.

Lemons and limes are a great remedy in many diseases and in scurvy, too. They have the great property to prevent scurvy and not only to cure it. They are rich in Vitamin C and they are considered food with an exceptional therapeutic effect. Squeeze a lime or a lemon and mix the juice with water and a teaspoon of honey. ...

Another beneficial remedy for this disease is aamchur. Aamchur consists in skinned green mango fruits. These fruits are stoned, cut in pieces, dried in sun and in the end powdered. Take 15 gm of aamchur every day and the relief is felt immediately. They are as beneficial as limes and lemons because their rich in Vitamin C, too.

Potato, this common vegetable, is a very good treatment for scurvy. In 100 milligrams of potatoes you can find up to 17 milligrams of Vitamin C.

Jaundice Berry is a very beneficial herbal treatment for this disease. These plant leaves are known as powerful anti scurvy and anti-scorbutic. Make a decoction from 15 grams of dry jaundice berry leaves boiled in 500 milliliters of water. Boil the water until it remains one-third liquid. Drink 150-170 milliliters at once. You can also consume berry juice, too.

White lilac flowers are a very powerful remedy. Take a handful of white lilac flowers and add them in 1 liter of boiled and hot water. Cover the pot 15 minutes. Filter the liquid and drink 2-3 glasses a day. Repeat the treatment three days consecutively.

Mint tea is another efficient remedy. Take a few leaves of mint and boil them in 200 milliliters of water. Try to drink the tea without adding sugar or honey. You can drink 3-4 glasses a day. Continue this treatment 2-3 days.

Mango powder is another well known remedy for this disease. You can use the raw mango powder or you can add you in cooking. Oranges, cabbages, broccoli, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and green peppers are great if they are consumed in moderate quantities.

Jaundice berry can be a great remedy. Prepare a decoction from jaundice berry leaves boiled in 500 ml of water. Boil it until the liquid remains one third of the original quantity. Take 2-4 milliliters a day.
