The Nokia N9 is a phone that is expected to be launched by Nokia with an a few weeks, but it is certainly not the first time that people are expecting it to be launched. The hardware and the software versions of the two phones differ entirely to make them classes apart. The Nokia N9 is rumoured to be coming with the MeeGo operating system, which first made its debut in the Nokia handset in the Nokia N900. It is the operating system that is expected to replace the Symbian range of operating systems from the Nokia stable. Nokia has been losing a lot of reputation due to its persistence with the Symbian operating system, but the new Nokia N9 could change all of that.

The MeeGo platform is based on the Linux operating system and hence, it will be incredibly cheap to run. Also, it is expected to be an open source operating system that is very similar to the likes of the Android operating system. It still remains to be seen if this will be accepted by the high-end smartphone users like they have taken to the Android operating system. Because of the use of this new operating system, Nokia has been forced to update the processor in the Nokia N9. Hence, it will be running on a 1.2 GHz processor that is significantly faster than the 600 MHz-odd unit found in the Nokia N8. The screen and the other technologies are expected to be the same from the Nokia E7. Hence, one can expect the same 4 inch AMOLED touchscreen display.

It is still not confirmed that Nokia will be launched in the Nokia N9 at the MWC. The phone still exists as rumours only, but if Nokia were to launch the phone, it will be providing one hell of a competition to the HTC Desire HD and so on. The images about the device have so far been in white colour only, but it is expected to be available in other colour options as well.
