Learning how to properly clean the fuel filter of your car by using the information from online car advice keeps the vehicle in good shape. This is because the fuel filter prevents dust and rusts from reaching the car's engine and clog the fuel injection line. This might be a simple job but you need to do this carefully. In order to avoid d injuries, try to clean your car's fuel filter using the steps below.

Step 1: Locate the fuel filter's location

Locate the fuel filter by tracing the fuel line. The filter is a small metal or plastic canister placed into the line. Most car models install the fuel filter near fuel thank underneath the car. However, the filter's location varies depending on the model. It is better to read the owner's manual in case you are not able to find the filter's location.

Step 2: Detach the ends of the fuel line

Remove the ends of the fuel line connected to the fuel filter. Attach the horse clamps on both the entrance and the exit of the hose. Tighten the clamp using a flat screwdriver as far as you can go. This prevents ...
... the gasoline from spraying.

Step 3: Remove the gasoline stranded inside the filter

Detach the fuel filter and remove the gasoline that is inside. Spray the fuel filter with a B-12 Chem Tool Cleaner Spray that more car advice would recommend. This cleans the fuel filter from within. It is advisable to allow anything that comes out from the fuel filter to fall into a jar. These particles should be removed from the fuel filter. Repeat this step until no foreign particle comes out from the fuel filter.

Step 4: Gently tap the filter against a hard surface

Tapping the fuel filter on a hard surface after spraying it with a B-12 Chem Tool Cleaner Spray allows the removal of foreign particles that are still stranded inside the filter. After doing this, allow the fuel filter to dry for about an hour.

Step 5: Install the fuel filter back

By the time the fuel filter is totally dry, you can now install it back. Carefully attach its connections with the fuel line by removing the horse clamp. Screw everything that was unscrewed during the removal of the fuel filter. After finishing this, check for leakages by starting the car's engine.
