Soup made by boiling 4-5 cloves of garlic in water is an effective natural remedy for cold. Ginger tea or one teaspoon of ginger juice mixed with half teaspoon of honey is an excellent natural remedy for sore throat, dry cough and reducing cough formation in the body to cure the infection in short time. Use of ginger in food or in tea regularly reduces episode of cold infection to a large extent.
Decoction made by mixing 50 mg of tamarind and 250 ml of water and boiling it on a low flame for few minutes, later one teaspoon of clarified butter and half a teaspoon of pepper mixed in it. Consumption of this mixture can remove nasal blockages and throat soreness for immediate relief. There are many other herbs which also provide natural remedies for relieving common cold symptoms. Astragalus boosts up immunity system and reduces effect of rhinovirus causing cold, Echinacea reduces susceptibility to cold by improving immunity system, elderberry, slippery elm bark and cat's claw are all famous for providing natural remedy by improving immunity and fighting virus infections causing common cold and removing them in short duration.
