New York Events and Adventures club had one of the most exciting activities calendars across the Nation during January 2011 and for several reasonsfirst, members got up close and personal with live penguins. This once in a lifetime interactive activity even included viewing three of the newly added penguin chicks. What a wild life and certainly an unforgettable chance to be one with nature. Not crazy about waddling baby penguins? We also calendared more than a few manly sporting events such as hockey and ice climbing. Girls were also welcome to attend these events and show their own sportier self alongside the guys. We can assure you, ice climbing was also an event to be remembered.

The burliest and sports minded segment of the club took in a live hockey match between the New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabers. This time it was humans on ice- quite opposite the penguins' activity. There were even more ice capades for the really adventurous members who spent an exhilarating day scaling frozen waterfalls in the beautiful Catskill Mountains at our mountain ice climbing adventure. For those of you unfamiliar with ice climbing ...
... it is something like rock climbing except you must make your own hand and foot holds with an axe and crampons. Honestly, we felt very few club members had done this type activity before so hired our own certified guides to provide instruction and technical gear. We wanted to make certain our outing was safe and as free from risk as possible.

Finally, what would New York be without at least one Broadway play on calendar? In addition, we had an evening of entertainment with the world renowned Jeff Dunham. We warned you the Times Square ball dropping paled in comparison to our club calendar and there are about 30 other activities we have not even mentioned.
