How can you maximize the potential of each email marketing campaign? Knowing the right strategies is a must. In this article, let's take a look at some important pointers that every marketer needs to know about marketing with emails.
Don't get filtered out. Many email account service providers have built-in spam filters that get rid of unwanted messages right away. Sometimes, even when the recipient has opted in, your message may still end up in the trash or spam folder. Encourage your email subscribers to include your email address in their list of contacts so they will surely get updates whenever you send them.
Spam filters detect spam mails based on a number of criteria and if your subject line contains words that are often used in unsolicited mails, you may get filtered out. Hence, it's best idea to avoid spammy words and phrases in your subject line.
Make it simple. You don't want your email to be complicated or filled with too many graphics which can distract the reader's attention from what you're really trying to say. Avoid a very lengthy content as well. Instead, make your marketing copy short, ...

Be professional. Being personal doesn't mean you can throw professionalism out the window. It is important to keep a polite, professional tone and avoid the use of slang words, jargon, and other inappropriate language. Remember, you are representing your company through your emails and you always want to make a good impression.
Subscribe/Unsubscribe link. Why would you include an unsubscribe link in your marketing emails? It shows courtesy to the recipient. If the recipient wants to be removed from your mailing list at any time, he/she can do so easily, by clicking on the unsubscribe link.
Send on a Tuesday. Many marketers have proven that sending marketing email on Tuesdays or Wednesdays invites more response than other days of the week. You can test this theory out and see if it also works for your business. The key is to know the right timing.
Do not overload. Avoid sending marketing emails at such short intervals or multiple times in one day as doing so may cause your recipients to opt out of your listing. In fact, you should make sure that every advertising email you send contains relevant information and that you will not be wasting your recipient's time.
