The use of mobility products like a mobility scooter can be seen in the lives of most people of all ages suffering from mobility and disability problems. They can be useful as a temporary aid for someone recovering from and accident or they can become a permanent substitute for the ability to walk unaided for those with long term problems. Mobility products are commonly used by those who find it hard to move around even in their house or surrounding areas. They tend to help where people have neglected their social lives due to their incapability to commute. The use of a mobility scooter often helps these people get out of the depressed feelings they have and allows them to start enjoying their lives.

A mobility scooter is a perfect way of helping someone who is having mobility problems. This type of scooter can be used at minor slopes and on grass. For a longer distance like a trip to town, these scooters have chargeable batteries that provide ...
... speed faster than walking. Speeds of up to 8mph can be reached depending on the model chosen. These scooters come in various styles and sizes; some are only able to be ridden on the pavements while others have more classic look and extra features such as lights and indicators. Mobility scooters have adjustable seat and they come with three or four wheels to provide extra comfort and ease to their riders.

These scooters have predefined weighing capacity and can easily be folded, transported or stored. The facility it provides brings pride and joy along with an easy mobility in a disabled person's life. It opens up their daily life by helping them to move more easily.

A mobility scooter has either a handle bar control system or knob (joystick) that allows the person using them to perform their own tasks such as shopping and visiting others. With mobility scooters they can easily access the local areas and travel on a full battery for distances of up to 10 or 12 miles, even further with the larger models. This makes the life of the disabled person easier.

Mobility scooter gives any one with restricted movement because of a disability a certain self reliance. Now they will not need a carer or loved one to push their wheel chair. It will be so much easier to cross obstacles, ramps or even a slight sloppy surface. Batteries can easily be changed or recharged and the seats come with height and rake adjustment to make them suitable for each individual. The speed can vary up to 8mph depending on the model though going at speeds of over 4mph is only allowed on the road not the pavement. These varying speeds allow you to travel as fast or even faster than a person walking on the road. These scooters normally come with a carry basket which can be used to keep belongings. Whilst people are shopping they don't need someone to carry their bags as they can be kept in the storage basket provided on the scooter. This may not seem like a luxury to a normal person but for a disabled it really can mean a lot, giving them a sense of brings independence and pride in their life.
