Patiala House is an upcoming multi starrer that stars Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia. The film is directed by Nikhil Advani and is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mukesh Talreja, Krishan Kumar, Twinkle Khanna under the banner of 'People Tree Films Pvt. Ltd.' and 'Credence Motion Picture' and Hari Om Entertainment. The film is scheduled for release on 11th February, 2011.

The film, Patiala House is about Parghat Singh Kahlon (Akshay Kumar) aka Gattu whose parents had migrated to England from Punjab and has a large family in the United Kingdom. Gattu runs a shop in Southall, in England. He is also a talented fast bowler who nurtures the dreams of making it big by playing for England in the ICC World Twenty20 cup series cup series. Gattu is at cross roads when he has to confront his traditionalist father Gurtej Kahlon (Rishi Kapoor) who believes in protecting their Indian culture and identity, thereby giving rise to a conflict between father and son. But the film sees Gattu give up his dreams and save his father's reputation when he meets a girl who shows him the path and gives him strength to ...
... stand up for what he truly believes in. This cross-generation drama is about second chances. The film beautifully deals with the identity crisis faced by Indians bred in foreign lands. Akshay Kumar's character is loosely based on the life of English cricketer Monty Singh Panesar.
