Who doesn't love Tomoka? It is a fairly large park in Ormond Beach that basically has, well, everything. It is an 1800 acre Florida state Park located along the Tomoka River, three miles north of Ormond Beach on north Beach Street. There are places to camp, fish, eat, and even hike. The only drawback is that there's no swimming, but you're in Ormond, so the beach is right there.

Plenty to do:
There really is quite a bit you can do here and it is fun to spend a day doing the nature trails with the kids and looking at the wildlife. And if you're lucky, you might see a manatee. Manatees are large, gray, aquatic animals. It often called gentle giant or some times called sea cows. Manatees live in warm water and prefer it to be shallow. In the United States, they're found primarily off the coast of Florida, although sometimes they travel a little farther north in winter.

Camper's Paradise:
There are plenty of facilities here for campers and RVs, and most of the camping spots have power hookups.

Museum:
Need to get away from the heat for awhile? There's a nice little ...
... museum with some park history that you can check out. Nothing is too interesting, but still. It's a nice diversion.

No swimming:
You can boat, but you can't swim. Ah, the sadness.

Native Americans once dwelled here, living off fish-filled lagoons. Today, these waters are popular for canoeing, boating, and fishing. The park protects a variety of wildlife habitats and endangered species, such as the West Indian manatee. Tomoka is a bird-watcher's paradise, with over 160 species sighted, especially during the spring and fall migrations. Visitors can stroll a one-half mile nature trail through a hardwood hammock that was once an indigo field for an 18th century British landowner. A boat ramp gives boaters and canoeists access to the river. The Park Store offers snacks, camping supplies, and canoe rentals.

Tomoka Park is a really great alternative to hitting the beach immediately when you are in Ormond, and it provides a whole lot of stuff to do apart form swimming.

Ormond not only offers beautiful sceneries also lots of things to do. Beach sided hotels in Ormond make you feel like Paradise. Many hotels and resorts are located nearby beautiful attractions. qualityinnhotelormondbeach offer you world class service with all comfort you need.
