This is undoubtedly one of those discussions that have to start with a bit of background information. The first fact we may mention in that respect is that our bodies encounter lots of toxins in our day to day lives. Whenever we ingest any food, some toxins inevitably gain entry into our bodies (keeping in mind that by toxins, we are referring to very small, actually microscopic, elements). Whenever we drink any water, some toxins gain entry into our bodies; for there is really nothing like absolutely 'pure water' in day to day usage. And whenever we breathe, especially if we happen to be living in a highly polluted urban area, some toxins gain entry into our bodies.

We can go further to mention that the qualification for anything to be termed as a 'toxin' in that context would be where the said element (which is now being termed as a 'toxin') has the potential to cause us harm in our bodies. That is what qualifies it to be referred to as a toxin. From those statements, we can infer that toxins are obviously not desirable. It is in our best interests to prevent their entry into our bodies. But as we have seen, inasmuch ...
... as most toxins gain entry into our bodies through the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe, it becomes very difficult to avoid their entry. The best we can do, once they have gained entry into our bodies, is to periodically rid our bodies of them - a process known as detoxification.

In a way of speaking, there are two main types of detoxification. There is natural detoxification, which the body achieves through organs such as the liver and kidney. To some extent, the body is able to rid itself of certain toxins without help from any quarters. Then there is aided detoxification. This is achieved through the use of the various detoxifying supplements. It is useful when dealing with certain toxins that our bodies' natural detoxification mechanisms would be unable to cope with.

Examples of such toxins, which our bodies' natural detoxification mechanisms are largely unable to cope with include the toxins in the form of heavy metals. The lead fumes we breathe, the mercury traces we ingest with our foods, the nickel and barium traces that somehow find their way into our bodies are all examples of these heavy metals. Unaided, our bodies would be unable to get rid of them. And that is what makes it necessary to find a way of helping our bodies get rid of them (especially keeping in mind that their continued accommodation in our bodies would almost inevitably cause major health problems, including certain cancers).

The preferred aid, with which our bodies are able to get rid of heavy metal toxins, is zeolite; usually taken in the form of zeolite supplements.
The working mechanism for a typical zeolite supplement is very easy to understand, especially after getting to appreciate the facts that zeo ions are negatively charged, that zeo's molecular structure is sieve/cage-like, and further that most heavy metals are positively charged. So what happens is that upon taking in the zeolite supplement, zeo ions eventually get into the bloodstream. There, they inevitably attract the positively charged heavy metal ions. Then, on account of their sieve/cage-like molecular structures, they trap heavy metal ions. Once this happens, the positively charged heavy metal ions, which are the toxins in this case, are carried out of the body together with the zeo ions, leaving the person in question 'clean' and free from the harmful effects that are associated with the toxins.

The author recommends zeolite due to zeolite containing many detoxifying elements crucial to good health.
