In addition, some of the best event bands in the country are Utah bands. Utah is a hub where many corporate events and conventions are held. Companies like Utah Live Bands employ musicians from all over the state to provide entertainment for these events.

Utah has long been influenced by the Mormon Church (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). There is a strong following of local Utah bands by the church members. Some Utah bands that play religious music are well known through out the state due to it's strong Mormon roots. About 60% of the Utah population are members of the Mormon church and in most cases, the church plays an active cultural part of the members lives. Music has always been a strong part of the church. The Grammy and Emmy-award- winning Utah band, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is made of 360 members who are all volunteer. The choir was started in 1873.
