When the use of navigation links on your website is done in a correct manner than, your chances of getting more number of web traffic increases and large chunk of people visit your site often. If the navigation is not as expected the visitors would hastily leave your website and might land up on your competitor's website. So definitely there are certain elements that are targeted towards making a site navigational and ensure that people stay on for longer time duration and keep on coming back.

People don't like to waste their time in searching your website or information that you have. The reason is internet users have very small attention spans, therefore the web pages that take longer time to load makes the visitors lose their interest and leave. Even if they stay on to your website for more time duration, in order to re-visit they need a solid reason behind it. It should be able to create enough interest in the minds of the users and provide them the data they are looking for.

If you keep them fancy, at first instance it may look good to the visitors, but if they are unable to get to the information even by 1 or 2 clicks would lose interest. If possible make the navigation tools so user friendly that even by a single click user is able to access the web pages.

You should be able to give visitors reason to come back to your website. If your website contains nice products, user-friendly features, attractive web design, to-the-point information, good web content and proper navigation facility, users would certainly want to come often. On you blog, you can post in most popular posts that gives other readers idea about what's most happening on your website.
