Cigarette smoking is injurious to health and Smoking is a hazard to health - how many times have you seen those and other warnings? If you are a smoker, then the answer depends on the number of packs you burn daily. Most smokers, at one time or another, decide to quit smoking. And although there is no exact statistics on the number of smokers that quit successfully, those that do usually do it by going ‘cold turkey'. But for those that quit and start again there is now a way to help in the quitting process - electronic cigarettes.

What are electronic cigarettes?

The simple definition of electronic cigarettes would be: mechanical devices that look, taste and smell like the real organic cigarettes, but do not have the tendency to harm the smoker. They are usually battery charged. The electronic cigarettes deliver a proportioned amount of nicotine in a vapor format. The great illusion is that when the user takes a drag on the cigarettes it feels like he is smoking the real thing, except in this case no tar is inhaled.

Currently there are two models of electronic cigarettes on the market. ...
... These are the automatic and manual types. The automatic type has electronic sensors that can sense the direction of air flow and automatically switch on a heater which vaporizes the liquid in the mouthpiece. The manual electronic cigarettes have a button that is pressed to start the vaporization.

How do electronic cigarettes help?

The biggest advantage to smoking electronic cigarettes is the fact that no tobacco or tar, among a whole lot more of assorted poisons, is inhaled into the lungs. Another advantage is that there is no need for matches or lighters that can cause fires when being struck. When you smoke electronic cigarettes you do not exhale obnoxious smoke that serves to annoy non-smokers and you also are not blamed for second-hand smoke. You do not have that smokers' stink on your clothing, hands and hair. And finally the economics that is involved both in terms of the actual pack of cigarettes verses the very low price of using electronic cigarettes and the medical costs that will be incurred later due to the various cancers and health hazards that are caused by the real cigarettes is just immeasurable.

Some online stores like Real Electronic Cigarettes offer a wide choice of electronic cigarettes. Apart from the manual and automatic options there are various brands that cater to almost all the demands any smoker that is trying to quit can make.
