As your fan base gets bigger, your gigs get more anticipation and your CDs are finished, the next thing to do is to actually market your CD to your fans. However easy it sounds, it's never easy to sell something, but here are some tips on how to market your CDs.

BUZZ UP!

The CDs can still be in duplication process, but you can already start marketing them! Say hello to your Twitter followers and let them in on the upcoming CD. Tell your fans on Facebook as well, because there's nothing more exciting than following the progress of an upcoming CD. Create anticipation and buzz, ask your friends to spread the word about the CD. This way, your CDs can sell quickly when they finally come out.

RELEASE PARTY!

What's a CD without a launch party? Don't think that if there's no big label backing you up then you can't have a launch party for your CD. It's actually very important to celebrate your CD launch and invite your fans and other bands too! Play your songs for the audience and don't forget to sell the CD at the event. You'll be surprised at how effective this sales method is.

SELL ONLINE

It's ...
... the 21st century, people. Internet is the way to sell almost anything. Use free online stores to sell your CD and make use of Facebook and Twitter to spread the word. Send your CD to music bloggers and ask them to write a review. Don't forget to always try to include a link to the online store that sells your CD.

GIGS = MARKET

When your CD is out, always bring some stock to sell on your every gig. Make the CDs your official merchandise and if your fans like what they hear, they can buy your CDs there and then. Remember, every gig is an opportunity to sell your CD!
