Does Hypnosis For Anxiety Really Work?
If you're struggling with negative mind states, then hypnosis for anxiety is something you may want to consider. The symptoms of anxiety are often interchangeable with those of depression, and they are almost always linked with low self-esteem. Many people bewildered by their negative feelings; they pass judgment on themselves, believing that they ‘have no right' to feel the way they do, or that they ‘should just snap out of it'.
But as you know it is not quite that simple. There are many reasons why we feel unable to manage our lives, and anxiety can often present itself much later in life when we think we ‘should' have it all together.Often the pressures of society, work and family life are so great that we can become overwhelmed by everything that is happening around us. When this happens, our immune system is compromised and we feel unable to cope with the smallest things that would not otherwise bother us.
Many anxiety sufferers have trouble falling asleep at night, or if they do fall asleep they will often awaken later on and be unable to go back to sleep, Lack of ...
... sleep is debilitating on so many levels, and can worsen the effects of anxiety. So often it can feel like a catch-22 situation.
The cause of anxiety and depression is usually a combination of low self-esteem and negative beliefs. Sometimes there is also a chemical imbalance in the brain that needs to be corrected with medication, but this should always be combined with some form of therapy. There may be a subconscious cause for your low self-esteem and negative self-talk that you can't access consciously - therefore, even though you consciously want to change your feelings and behaviours, your subconscious belief systems won't allow you to do this. In fact, your subconscious mind actually believes that it is helping you in some way by manifesting this behaviour.Here are some common beliefs that cause high anxiety:
You can never be too careful;
Better to be safe than sorry;
I am hopeless;
Life is hard;
Life is a struggle;
I am useless;
Whatever can go wrong will go wrong;
You can't trust anybody;
Bad things happen in threes;
I'm highly strung;
I take after my mother/father, (someone who is anxious)
I always make a mess of things;
I'll probably fail;
Hypnosis is a very powerful way to eradicate negative belief systems and replace these with positive life affirming beliefs. The reason why hypnosis works so well is because when we practise hypnosis, we are shutting down the part of the brain that is responsible for critical analytical thinking (IE: the part of the brain that decides what you will and will not allow into your subconscious mind). When we shut this part down, we are talking directly to the subconscious mind; this part of the mind does not know the difference between what is vividly imagined and what is real - so we can tell it anything. For this reason, you don't have to ‘believe' in hypnosis for it to work.
But why does it work for some and not for others? Firstly, it's important to know that nobody can make you do something that you do not want to do. So if on some level you are attached the being an ‘anxious person', then it's possible that there is a subconscious pay-off at play. If that is the case, a skilled therapist will help you to transcend your pay-offs, but it takes work and commitment from you. While anxiety hypnotherapy is not a magic bullet, it will put you in touch with a really strong part of you that knows how to manifest positive change.
If you haven't yet tried hypnosis for anxiety, I recommend that you look into it. A qualified therapist will teach you how to use your mind so that you can begin attracting what you want into your life. As you do this you will become a calmer and more relaxed person.
