Try a wicker basket or small chest to keep those essential bathroom items in and prevent them spreading around to spoil your design effect. If you have a large bathroom it is important that the room looks welcoming. A long luxurious soak in the bath with candles and scented oils is an ideal relaxant after a stressful day. Choose colours which will make the room seem warm and welcoming. Almost any colour is suitable for this if you choose the correct shade. Look for muted reds to add warmth and match up with modern rugs in these shades.

The ideal place for a modern rug is having it situated by the side of the bath to step onto when you get out, and don't worry about the water dripping onto your modern rugs; they are made to be tough. Other ideas can be implemented to add character by adding large pictures on your walls to break up the colour, and some mood lighting, and your bathroom will be the ideal place to unwind at the end of the day.
