Obesity - People with excess weight have an increased resistance to insulin which can result in development of the disease.

Poor Diet - Nutrition that is low in fiber and protein, or those which include a greater amount of refined products are also responsible for the disease.

Infection - in organs of the body like the pancreas often act as the starting point for the disease.

Hypertension - A direct relation of high blood pressure with diabetes have been confirmed and reported in many studies.

Lazy Lifestyle - People with a lazy or sedentary lifestyle are at a greater risk of developing diabetes than those who exercise regularly.

The good news is that many of the causes of diabetes listed above can be reversed with adoption of healthy lifestyles. Regular exercise along with a good level of physical activity also plays an important role in keeping one free from the tentacles of diabetes. Treatment for diabetes should be sought at the earliest to avoid further complications. If left untreated for long, diabetes can cause complications kidney failure or heart disease. The conventional modes of treatment for diabetes are costly. Alternative treatments for diabetes offer an affordable and safer option to deal with the disease in a natural way. Meditation, yoga, exercise, herbs, acupuncture, massage, mud therapy are among the many options to go for in your quest in keeping diabetes at bay. Diabetes is a lifelong disease, and it is best to learn control and manage the disease before the disease controls our life.
