‘Facebook is recruiting!!!' was the very common ecstatic message that was sent across by techies on hunt for a Dream Job, this month. With the recession receding its effect, not only FB but also many IT giants are headhunting in large numbers.

Last year's scenario was not very pleasing as the IT firms played their cards cautiously. Even notable IT giants had stopped had put their recruitment process in retardation which was the cause of frown on the faces of IT graduates. The term ‘100% placement record' was set aside for a considerable period of time by many popular institutes. Graduates from management institutes suffered the grieving epoch too, who depended on IT giants on offering jobs with luscious salary packages in multiple of lakhs per annum. There were several occurrences of the sad scenario in media including the Times of India. Even ISB was not spared by the recession and the weighted salary dropped by a tremendous 3 lakhs comparing to the other years.

But now, with the fall-back of the deflation, many major firms are working on a different game plan that is invigorating the spirits of the ...
... job hunters. Even before the conclusion of this year, major firms like Tata Consultancy, Cognizant, Infosys, and HCL are on a spree, having hired thousands of new recruits even without any fuzz about aptitude tests or group discussions and with just a face-to-face interview. Firms like Morgan Stanley, SanDisk and Beroe Inc. are strengthening their IT workforce adding a significant number to their pay-roll.

Students of the premiere institutes look forward to firms offering packages over 6-7 lakhs per annum to recruit in large numbers. And to the surprise of the students, glitzy names like Facebook, Global Scholar and many other firms with huge offerings have turned up on the list of the recruiting companies. Facebook has even a separate column in the website with the many facts about the firm and all the goodies in store for the new recruits. Giants like Microsoft, Amazon and Google have not lagged in the race raising their acceptance rate to a heartening level where many deserving aspirants can easily catch on.

This sweet pie is shared by the management graduates too. Many b-schools which cried a river over the fall of recruitment graph last year, are now flaunting this year's placement records on their websites. By the end of this term, one can expect better results in terms of average package offered to the graduated by the IT firms.
