A movie which garnered exceptional reviews at the Toronto International Flim Festival (TIFF) - Kiran Rao's directorial debut ‘Dhobi Ghat' promises to be a breakthrough movie with a subject that is radically different. The movie starring the ‘3 Idiot' superstar Aamir Khan, will also present the ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' actor Prateik Babbar as well as Monica Dogra and debutant Kriti Malhotra.

India has always been infamous for its caste differentiation, but there hasn't been a movie which highlights this issue. Especially when it comes to a relationship, that too between a couple at the extreme ends of the society, there are bound to be sparks and retaliation from both ends. Aamir Khan Productions' Dhobi Ghat will release early next year on 21st January, 2011. We present you an exclusive First Look of the film. Dhobi Ghat marks the directorial debut of Aamir Khan's wife Kiran Rao. Previously Kiran Rao has worked as an assistant director on films like Aamir Khan's Lagaan and Shah Rukh Khan's Swades.

... characters in the movie. Shot very aesthetically, the video tries to highlight the simplicity of the metropolitan Mumbai city, with shots of the Mumbai skyline and its small houses. Like Aamir Khan's last production Peepli [Live], Dhobi Ghat too is a moderately budgeted film which revolves around a dhobi (clothes washer) called Munna (Prateik Babbar) and a horde of other interesting characters including Shia (Monica Dogra), Yasmin (Kriti Malhotra) and an artist Arun (Aamir Khan). ‘Dhobi Ghat' revolves around these four people who are based near ‘Dhobi Ghat' in Mumbai.

Reportedly, Aamir Khan plays a cameo in ‘Dhobi Ghat' and, like in Taare Zameen Par, his character doesn't take the lead though is significant to the story.
