Getting a foreign job is becoming increasingly hard. With the current global economic crisis, long application processes and new visa restrictions, it is hard to wade through the sea of offers for employment to locate legitimate foreign jobs. A few of the best avenues available for locating foreign jobs are discussed.

Local Government

One of the first places you must look for foreign jobs is the local government website for the country you want to find employment. There you will be made aware of the processes you will have to undergo to work in a particular country, including information on any fees that the process will incur, the length of time it takes to get a visa etc.

Foreign Teaching Jobs

Another popular means of finding foreign jobs is through teaching opportunities. many non-English speaking countries (China, Japan and South Korea to name a few) are constantly looking for teachers and tutors for students who are presently learning English.

Recruits are usually forewarned of all the cultural differences they may experience beforehand. Normally, foreign teaching job recruits are contracted for one year with the option to renew once that time is passed. The more you renew, the greater your salary will be with each year.

Cruise Ship Employment

This is on the boarder of "foreign" employment, but it is still worth noting. Working on a cruise ship affords you many opportunities for seeing the world at each of the ship's ports of call with very little of the hassle involved with looking for a foreign job. Your job will therefore not technically be foreign but you will be visiting many foreign countries. A advantage of cruise ship employment is that you will need to special training, as you will only applying for a job in the field you are already employed in. Cruise chips constantly recruit, chefs, waiters, bartenders, maintenance staff, engineers, and managers. Some even require day care workers, massage therapists or secretaries. There is no end to the experiences you would have in foreign countries.
