Lg Gives A Peek At Next Generation Tvs
If you have a shiny new LED TV on your Christmas shopping list, you may want to wait. Although the new LED televisions may seem like the technology can’t get any better, LG has announced the next level of brightness and clarity when it comes to TVs.
The LW9500 and LW7700 NANO FULL LED series of televisions feature NANO (smaller) technology for brighter screens and better image quality.
The key to the improvement is how the images are presented. LG’s official announcement stated the TVs feature “an extremely thin film printed with a proprietary light dispersion pattern combined with a full array of LEDs disperses light more evenly across the screen, creating pictures that are brighter and more uniform than conventional edge-lit LED sets.â€Â
Both models to be released also boast advanced dimming capabilities across their 2D and 3D formats, thanks to Micro Pixel Control.
The sets are to be made in sizes ranging from 47 to 60 inches. The LW9500 will feature LG’s TruMotion 480 Hz, while the LW7700 will feature TruMotion 240 Hz. ...
... LG’s TruMotion technology boasts higher refresh rates for a more accurate image of high speed action like car races, high speed chases and action sequences.
The sets will also feature an Anti-Reflection Panel which will help the TV fit anywhere in your home and still be watchable at all times of the day. Of course, like most LED TVs the sets will also feature a super thin profile, making them ideal for wall mounting.
The two TV sets are also going through the THX 2D and 3D certification process.
That leaves me with plenty of questions. When exactly will these sets be available for purchase? How much will they be? With similar 3D sets of that size range easily going for $2,000 or more, what can we expect here? Will the sets be Wi-Fi capable? Will they be equipped with Google TV like some of the new Sony sets are?
Certainly these questions and many others will be answered at January’s Consumer Electronics Show.
In the mean time, holiday shoppers, you’re faced with a tough dilemma. Buy a brand spanking new top of the line TV now, only to have it be old technology in a few months, or wait to snag one of these fancy new LG models. I think I would probably just get what you can now. Because if you wait, you know there will be another super awesome TV set just around the corner. Technology is always evolving and changing, and if you wait too long to get what you want you’ll end up with nothing.
But, that’s just my two cents. These TVs do sound like they’re going to be very cool, but will probably come with a very high price tag. So, the choice is yours. To buy, or not to buy. That is the question this holiday season.
