The Brazilian Blowdry treatment is a great alternative for someone wanting to smooth and straighten their hair as it doesn't use harsh chemicals and can actually improve the condition of the hair. However, before making the decision to undergo the treatment it is important to be aware of the pros and cons associated with it to make sure that it is for you.

If you are looking to relax and straighten your hair without exposing it to harmful chemicals then the Brazilian Blow Dry treatment could be for you. The treatment uses keratin to soften and smooth the hair which is a natural protein that is already present in the hair strand. Other straightening treatments can sometimes do more harm than good and leave the hair looking unnaturally straight, dull and flat. The Brazilian Blowdry does not completely straighten the hair leaving the hair with some volume and movement so the result is as natural-looking as possible.

However, there are some disadvantages that are worth bearing in mind before deciding to go ahead with the treatment. The biggest downfall of the Brazilian Blowdry ...
... is the price. The cost of doing the entire head of hair usually ranges from about £200 to £400 depending on the length and thickness of the hair. The price may also vary from salon to salon and you may have to pay around £75 for retouches as the hair grows.

After having the treatment you will need to keep you hair dry for up to four days so that the solution can set properly. You will also need to keep your hair free from ridges so this will involve keeping your hair down and not putting the hair behind the ears or wearing a hat or a headband. The Brazilian Blowdry is not suitable for pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding.

The Brazilian Blow Dry is different to other straightening methods in that it used keratin, a protein found naturally in hair and nails, to smooth and straighten the hair. In the past straightening or relaxing treatments have used harsh chemicals to alter the shape of the hair strand leaving the hair looking flat, lifeless and brittle. In most cases the treatments actually damaged the hair and the growing out period left women looking like some sort of strange half straight, half curly monster.

The beauty of the Brazilian Blowdry is that whether you've got tight curls, soft waves or movement in your mane this treatment can help you go straight without causing any damage. After just one session your hair is left kink-free and touchably soft and the results last up to four months. The keratin injection is like a super duper nourishing hair mask and is left on the hair for 30 minutes or more and once your hair has soaked up all the nutrients your stylist will dry your hair until it is super sleek with a beautiful sheen. The last step is to seal in all the goodness of the keratin by using special hot irons for a final flourish.
